Weekly Memo May 11, 2020

Parents and Students of the Silver Lake Elementary,

Don’t forget that Brookhaven Elementary will be holding a drive-through registration for new students and kindergarteners on Wednesday, May 20th from 9 AM until Noon. Parents can print off registration beforehand at https://brookhaven.alpineschools.org/registration-enrollment/ or they will have papers to be filled out there. Make sure to bring your student’s birth certificate, current immunization record, proof of residency, and any divorce/court decree (if applicable). Please let any new neighbors that you have who need to get their kiddos registered for next year about this registration day. Remember this is for next year’s new students and kindergarteners.

We’ve been asked if we will be hosting a Kindergarten Meet and Greet for all our incoming Kinder Kiddos and their parents.  This is so they can meet me and the Kinder teachers.  We are looking at doing this and are waiting to schedule a day and time until we receive word from the District that we are cleared to meet for meeting face to face, other than on-line.  If we have to do an online meeting we can but I’d rather do a face to face meeting.  Either way, we will likely do this later this summer.  Likely in August.  I’ll keep you posted.

Speaking of August, we have received word that we will likely be able to move into the building earlier in August than the previously projected date of the 14th.  This is HUGE and we are very excited.  As we get further down the road I’ll have a better idea of the exact date.

I’d like to remind those who are applying for Out of Area requests to come to Silver Lake.  We won’t be reviewing the requests until we have all our class lists set and we know how many seats we have available by grade.  This will take place in July or the first part of August.  We also have to take into consideration summer move-ins.  If you know someone who is out of our area and want to come to Silver Lake, please pass along this information.

This week some amazing educators have joined our school staff and family.  Olivia Dial will be our Innovative Learning Coach.  She will be working with the teacher to create embedded blended technology learning in their classrooms.   Kjerstin Abraham is our new School Counselor and we will share her with Saratoga Shores Elementary and lastly, Tiffany Burt will be our Office Assistant.  We are super excited for these dynamic ladies to be on staff at Silver Lake.

Don’t forget to like and follow us on our Facebook page. Go on to it and sign up to follow our page.    https://www.facebook.com/Silver-Lake-Elementary-00870361579179/?view_public_for=100870361579179

If there is anything we can help you with, please feel free to email me or our secretary, Heather Michaelis, at [email protected] .

Here are this week’s photos of the school.  Lisa Adams, our Librarian was so excited to get a tour of the building and see the library.  20200508_090723.jpg   20200507_084630.jpg   20200507_085825.jpg    20200508_090232.jpg    20200508_090148.jpg    IMG_6060001.jpg
