Parents of Silver Lake Elementary Students,
Our fundraiser concluded last week and we raised over $7,000.00 for our library. We truly appreciate all that was donated and are excited for all the new books we will be able to add to the library.
Track Requests: Track requests are ongoing but will end on Wednesday. Here is the link to make your request if you haven’t done so already. https://forms.gle/UnJeLejPwvw47Ayq9 If you are wanting a change please fill this out for all of your students. This is for this year’s kindergarten students as well. We will need to know what your requests are for 1st grade. Remember, we will not be doing teacher requests but if you have a concern about a potential placement, please email me.
PTA Spirit Night: The PTA is having another Spirit Night this Tuesday evening from 4:00 – 8:30 PM at Village Pizza. Here is a flyer about it. PTA Spirit Night April 2021.pdf
Acadience Reading Testing: We will be conduction our end-of-year reading assessment for all Kinder – 3rd grades on Tuesday and Wednesday. Please make sure your kiddos are at school those days and that they get a good night’s sleep and a hardy breakfast those days. We want them to do their very best on the test.
RISE Tests: All grades, 3rd – 6th, will be doing their end-of-testing this week and for the next three weeks. Here is a schedule of testing days and times by grade. Scroll down to find your student’s grade (there is one grade per page and there may be some changes as we go along. A good night’s sleep and a great breakfast on tests days really help kiddos have the mental energy to do their best on the tests.
Whole School Picture: We will be doing a whole school group photo on the 30th. We will be taking smaller group photos and then will photoshop them together for a whole school picture. We ask that all students wear their school tee shirts.
Student Council: Student Council Applications for next year will be going out to the students and will need to be returned by Friday the 7th.
End-of-Year Activities: By way of information, we will have some end-of-year activities this year but not all we would normally have as we are still adhering to current COVID guidelines. We will be doing Field Day on the 25th of May, a 6th Grade activity off campus and an Evening of Celebration on the 26th, the last day of school Clap Out on the 27th, and a Minimal Day as well. Other activities like a Dance Festival, 6th Grade vs Faculty Kickball (or Wacko Ball) game, a Munch & Mingle lunch with your kiddos, etc. will be saved for next year.
Student Birthday on Marquee: Parents can pay to have their student’s name pop-up on our outside digital marquee on their birthday. Please give us a couple of days to get it up, especially if it is over the weekend. We try hard to check every day and we do not want to miss anyone’s birthday if payment is made within a day or two of the actual birthday. The cost is $5.00 to be paid online. The instructions are below.
