Parents of Silver Lake Elementary Students,
Happy Valentine’s Day and President’s Day tomorrow. Do not forget, there is no school tomorrow.
Food Drive: The Food Drive has been extended until Wednesday this week so we can get more food for the needy. Please encourage your kiddos to bring non-perishable food to school by then. The following are rewards for filling up each of the three bins of non-perishable items. 1.) Music and candy toss at recess, 2.) Mr. Miller has to wear a wig for a whole day, and, 3.) Mr. Miller and Mrs. Michaelis compete against each other in a game of egg roulette on Coyote TV. This is a great way for the students to serve others.
Random Acts of Kindness Day: We are celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Day on the 17th and invite all to wear pink that day. Here is a video about what the pink shirt day represents. https://youtu.be/tYEPQIVb8wc
Box Tops: Silver Lake Elementary is now set up for Box Tops! All you need is your phone! Download the boxtops app, shop as you normally would, then use the app to scan your store receipt within 14 days of purchase. The app will identify Box Tops products on your receipt and will automatically credit them to our school.
Yearbooks: Yearbooks are on sale for $14.00. These will be very nice, full-color books to commemorate our first year as a school. You can purchase them by using the myschoolfees link below. The price will go up to $16.00 on March 1st.
Birthday on Marquee: Parents can pay to have their student’s name pop-up on our outside digital marquee on their birthday. Please give us a couple of days to get it up, especially if it is over the weekend. We try hard to check every day and we do not want to miss anyone’s birthday if payment is made within a day or two of the actual birthday. The cost is $5.00 to be paid online.
