Parents of Silver Lake Elementary Students,
Can you believe that September is right around the corner this week? We are looking forward to the PTA Fall Carnival next week on Friday the 10th. I hope you are able to come with your whole family. It will be a great time! There is information below about it.
Ballroom: Our Ballroom Director will be offering another free trial opportunity for 4th-6th grade students who might be interested in Ballroom. It will be on Tuesday the 31st from 8:00 – 9:00 AM in the gym. No need to sign up for these trial events, just show up to get an idea of what Ballroom is all about.
PTA: Our PTA has a meeting on Wed the 1st at 10:00 AM. They are continuing the plan for our School Carnival.
9/11 Flag Raising Ceremony & Community Hero’s Parade: We will be doing our traditional Flag Raising Ceremony on Thursday the 9th at 9:45 AM to remember the events and sacrifices of September 11th, 2001. We have been invited to have a Community Hero’s Parade pass by our school around the same time we are doing our flag-raising ceremony. The parade will have police officers, firefighters, military personnel, and medical professionals. They will pass through our parking lots while the students are outside for the flag-raising ceremony, allowing the students to show their appreciation for the sacrifices of so many who keep us safe and healthy. Parents are welcome if they would like to attend. More information will be forthcoming.

Spirit Shirts: Our Spirit shirts have arrived. The new students should have received their free shirts. If you want to buy a replacement short for your kiddos, you can go to the myschoolfees.com link below to purchase more shirts. They are $10.00 each.
Before & Afterschool Classes: Our before and after school classes will begin the week of Labor Day. Here is the schedule and cost for the classes. You can pay for the classes by using the myschoolfees.com link below.

Coding Class: For the 1st trimester, the Coding class will be for 4th-6th grade students only. The 2nd trimester will be for 1st-3rd graders and then in the 3rd trimester will be for 1st – 6th graders.
The Birthday on Marquee: Parents can pay to have their student’s name pop up on our outside digital marquee on their birthday. Please give us a couple of days to get it up, especially if it is over the weekend. We try hard to check every day and we do not want to miss anyone’s birthday if payment is made within a day or two of the actual birthday. The cost is $7.00 to be paid online.
