Parents of Silver Lake Elementary Students,
Fall is just around the corner. It is my favorite time of year. The crisp air, fall foliage, flannel shirts, sweaters, pumpkin, and apple spice. It’s the best. There are also so many fun things going on at school in the fall. So much to look forward to. Remember, this month our 10C focus is Compassion. It is one of the most important dispositions we could ever acquire. How we treat one another and how we serve each other are hallmarks of who we truly are. It is what we espouse to be. A people who care for and care about one another.
Before & Afterschool Classes: Unfortunately, we do not have enough students to carry our Chime Choir so we are canceling this class. Those who have already paid for the Chime Choir will be reimbursed. We still need more students to join our Ballroom, Coding, and Chinese classes.
Students entering the school: All students should enter the school through the north doors except those who are coming early for before school classes. They should enter through the front, main entrance as we do not have anyone out back on the north side that early when the morning classes start to let them in on the north side.
Vision Screening Help: We have a Vision Screening this Tuesday and we need some parents to help. Here is a link for you to sign up. https://www.signupgenius.com/
School Community Council: The SCC has a meeting on Wednesday the 22nd at 2:15 PM. Anyone is welcome to attend.
PTA Meeting: The PTA is having a meeting on Wednesday the 29th at 10:00 AM.
Room Parent Meeting: There will be a Room Parent Meeting for those who signed up to help in their kiddos class. The meeting will be on Thursday the 30th at 3:40 PM in the Gym.

Parent-Teacher Conference: Just to get these dates on your calendars, our Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences will be on October 6th and 7th.
Book Fair Help: Our AMAZING librarian, Mrs. Adams is looking for parent help in the Book Fair during the week of Parent-Teacher Conferences. Here is a link to sign up to help if you are interested. https://www.signupgenius.com/
Fall Break: Fall Break is October 14th & 15th with a teacher Professional Development Day on the 18th.
Spirit Shirts: If you want to buy a replacement shirt for your kiddos, you can go to the myschoolfees.com link below to purchase more shirts. They are $10.00 each.
The Birthday on Marquee: Parents can pay to have their student’s name pop-up on our outside digital marquee on their birthday. Please give us a couple of days to get it up, especially if it is over the weekend. We try hard to check every day and we do not want to miss anyone’s birthday if payment is made within a day or two of the actual birthday. The cost is $7.00 to be paid online.
