Weekly Memo November 21- 25

Parents of Silver Lake Elementary Students,

Teacher Farewells:  This week is the last week for two of our wonderful teachers.  Mrs. Goodrich our art teacher is moving to Europe with her family for her husband’s job.  We will miss Mrs. Goodrich greatly and wish her all the best.  We have hired a new art teacher but she won’t be starting until after the Christmas break.  We will have a long-term sub in the art classroom until then.  The morning Art Club will be put on hold until after Christmas break and we will reset the grade rotations for who will attend the last two quarters of the year. For those currently in the morning club, their enrollment will roll over to the other quarter assigned for their grade.  Or a refund can be granted if requested.

We also bid farewell to Miss. Tramell in the preschool.  She is moving to another position in early childhood education.  We love Miss Chelsea and wish her well.  We are in the process of hiring a new preschool teacher and the district will have a preschool sub in place along with our two paraprofessionals until the new teacher is hired.

Thanksgiving Break: Don’t forget that Thanksgiving Break is next week from Wednesday the 23rd – Friday the 25th.

Musical Theater Performance:  Our Musical Theater group is getting so close to their performances. We want to extend our invitation to each of you to the shows on Nov. 30th and Dec. 1st. Tickets are free, but we ask you to reserve them so we can distribute them over the two days.  Dream a Little Dream Tickets Also, if you are interested/willing to help with anything backstage during the shows, please let Ms. Michaelson know as this is a big task.  Her email address is:  [email protected]

Spring Musical:  We are hoping to have a Spring Musical Performance this year but we need a director.  If any of you know someone who would like to direct our school musical, please let me know.

Pop Top Drive:  Our PTA will be doing the Pop Top Drive again this year for the Ronald McDonald House.  The drive starts now and ends on the 9th.  The class that brings in the most pop tops (by weight) will get a party.  Please have your kiddos bring their pop tops in a Ziplock bag with tier teacher’s name on it and give it to their teacher.

Thank you for all you do for our wonderful school and the support you give us all.  We love your kiddos and are thankful for the opportunity to teach them and care for them each and every day.  Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Joel V. Miller – Principal
