Parents of Silver Lake Elementary Students,
Supervision before school: Please keep in mind that there is no school supervision on the playground before 9:00 AM. Students who come early will be unsupervised.
Fundraiser: Tomorrow we will start our school fundraiser. Our goal is $10,000.00 for arts, performing arts, and science materials and supplies. Attached here is a flyer about the fundraiser Donation Info Flyer 2024.pdf. We appreciate your support as we strive to provide more for our students.
Spring Munch & Mingle: This Thursday the 2nd will be our Munch & Mingle. This is when parents and families can come to eat lunch with their kiddos during their scheduled lunchtime. We will not be able to accommodate adjusting students’ lunch schedules so please plan accordingly and spread out your lunch with your kids if they have different lunchtimes. You can either do picnic-style lunch on the grass west of the gym (we will have safety staff in place for those crossing the parking lot) or you can eat in the lunchroom or on the playground. Some parents brought lunches to enjoy with their kiddos. Students can still get school lunches if they so desire and parents/younger siblings can purchase a school lunch for $3.85. They are serving chicken drumsticks and hotdogs. Cash only to be paid in the lunchroom. Call the office before that day to let them know if you will be purchasing school lunches for yourself and/or for younger kiddos. Bring blankets to sit on and come and enjoy this fun activity. If the weather is poor, we will move into the gym and lunchroom.

*These times are when the last class in the grade is to be at the lunchroom, so please plan to be at SL a few minutes earlier. Also, please make sure your student(s) know if you can come of not. You can meet them outside the lunchroom on the west side.

School Musical: Our school musical Pirates! is getting ready for its maiden voyage on Friday the 10th at 7:00 PM, Saturday the 11th at 1:00 PM & 7:00 PM and on Monday the 13th at 7:00 PM. Pirates! (1).pdf Tickets are on sale now. PTA is selling Flowers and Treats that can be purchased to wish a musical theater student “Good Luck” in their upcoming show Pirates! This is a great way to show extra love and support to the cast. https://silverlake-pta.
PTA Pop Top Drive: Our PTA is sponsoring a Pop Top drive again this year from April 29th – May 17th. The class that brings in the most pop tops by weight will get ice cream sandwiches. The pop tops will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House to help families who have children in the hospital.
Field Day: Field day is coming up on Wednesday, May 22nd and we need your help!! Field day is divided into two parts. The morning group will consist of the kindergartners, 4th, 5th, and 6th graders and the time frame is 9:15 am-12 pm. The afternoon group will consist of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders and their time frame is 12:30-3:30 pm. As a volunteer, you can sign up for one session or both. You would be in charge of running one of the stations. All of the supplies for the games and the instructions of how to play are provided. You would just need to help each class that comes through play the game. Field day is such a fun and exciting day for the kids and they look forward to it every year. End of Year Schedule:
Hope of America: The 5th grade Hope of America program will be on the evening of Thurs the 9th at BYU.
Kindergarten Program: Our Fabulous Kindergarten Program will be on Wednesday the 15th at Vista Height’s Middle School at 6:30 PM.
Next Year’s Kindergarten Orientation: The orientation for next year’s Kindergarteners and their parents will be on Thursday the 16th at 5:00 PM in our auditorium. Kindergarten Orientation.png..png
6th Grade Day at the Park: This Friday, May 17th is the 6th Grade Day at the Park from 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM. The PTA will be providing lunch. Students should bring sunscreen, hats, water bottles, and any games or PE equipment they would like to play with. We will have other games set up for the students to enjoy while at the park as well.
No rolling items like skateboards, scooters, rollerblades, etc. School policies regarding cell phones are still enforced and they should not be used during this school-sponsored activity.
Yearbooks: The Yearbooks will be delivered to the student’s teachers during the last week of school.
Kindergarten Parade: The end of year Kinder parade will be on Mon the 20th at 9:15 AM
6th Grade Talent Show: The 6th Grade Talent Show will be on Tuesday the 21st at 9:30 AM.
6th Grade Evening of Celebration: Our 6th Grade Celebration will be on Tuesday the 21st at 6:00 PM.
Field Day: Field Day is on Wednesday the 22nd and is for all students, Kinder – 6th Grades. It is a common day for the Kindergartens. All kinder kiddos will attend during the AM session, 9:15 AM – 12:00 PM.
Last day for Kinder and Preschool: The last day for Kinder and Preschool is Thursday the 23rd.
6th Grade vs. Staff Wacko-Ball game: Our second annual 6th Grade vs Staff Wacko-Ball game will be on Thursday the 23rd at 9:30 AM. Parents are welcome to come and watch or even play on the staff team if they would like. No younger kiddos, email me for the count.
Last Day of School: Friday the 24th is the last day of school. It is a Minimal Day and the day will start at 9:15 AM & will end at 10:45 AM. We will do our Clap Out Parade starting at 10:30 AM. You’ll want to be at Silver Lake by 10:30 AM as the parade doesn’t take too long and we don’t want you to miss seeing your kiddos as they exit the school for the last time this year.

The Birthday on Marquee: Parents can pay to have their student’s name pop up on our outside digital marquee on their birthday. Please give us a couple of days to get it up, especially if it is over the weekend. We try hard to check every day and we do not want to miss anyone’s birthday if payment is made within a day or two of the actual birthdays. The cost is $7.00 to be paid online.
