Weekly Memo December 13, 2020

Parents & Students of Silver Lake Elementary,

This is the last week of school before the Christmas Break.  I am sure it will be a bit crazy this week but will be super fun too.

Ugly Sweater Day:  Tomorrow is Ugly Sweater Day.  I am looking forward to seeing all the crazy sweaters tomorrow.

Christmas Sing:  Due to the pandemic, we will be doing a virtual Christmas Sing this year.  We are recording each class singing their holiday song this week in their music class.  We will film their dance movements next week and will edit them together.  We are doing this because we are not able to maintain good safety measures with singing and dancing. The video will have other fun things added to it as well.  The Christmas Sing video will be sent to the teachers to show in the classrooms on the 17^th.  We will also post the video on our Facebook page for parents to enjoy.  If you have joined us on Facebook, here is the linkhttps://www.facebook.com/Silver-Lake-Elementary-100870361579179  Additionally, we will send the video out in an email to parents.

Christmas Break:  Christmas Break is the 21^st – January 1^st.  School will start again on the 4^th.  We will have a Minimal Day on the 18^th.

Minimal Day:  The schedule for the Minimal Day on the 18^th is A Track will end at 11:30 AM & B Track will end at 12:45 PM.  There will not be Kindergarten or Preschool on this day.  Lunch will be provided prior to the end of the day.  We ask that students do not bring backpacks to school on Minimal Days.

Coding Club:  This Thursday will be the last day for the 1^st block of the Coding Club.  We will start the second block on February 4^th.

Birthday on Marquee:  Parents can pay to have their student’s name pop up on our outside digital marquee (on the southwest corner of the school) on their birthday.  The cost is $5.00 to be paid online.  The instructions are below.
