Parents,

Thanks for your support today so that we could have such a smooth first day of school. I loved seeing all of the smiles coming into the school as well as when they left. I just wanted to follow-up on a few key topics:

1.) Handicapped Parking. We have multiple families that need to use this space for drop-off and pick-up. Please do not use these spaces unless you have a handicap tag.

2.) Bike Racks: There are two locations for these. We have 2 by the kindergarten entrance to accommodate families with kindergarteners. Most of our bike racks are up in the parking lot by the marquee. We have coned off this area so that cars will not be entering this space anymore.

3.) At the end of the day, all students will be dismissed and asked to go out to the back playground (except kindergarten, preschool, and special class who will be dismissed in the front). After entering the back playground, they can then walk to the small gate by the kindergarten playground to pick up siblings or out the West entrance. Tomorrow, these gates will be open at 3:30 p.m.

4.) At drop-off in the morning, we ask that you say goodbye to your children at either gate entrance. We cannot have any parents on the back playground. We will have plenty of staff help students find their lines to line up at the bell.

Thanks again for a fabulous start to the year!

Dear Silver Lake Parents and Guardians,

The election window to vote for members of the Silver Lake Elementary School Community Council (SCC) will open on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., and will close on Friday, August 21st, at 5:00 p.m.

School Community Councils are found throughout Utah. Such councils work to improve the educational experiences of Utah students and to make our schools even more successful. The Silver Lake Elementary School Community Council is comprised of 8 individuals--5-6 parent representatives and 2-3 employee representatives.

The parent representative election process will be completed via an online ballot. Each parent/guardian has one vote. In order to vote you must have a child currently enrolled at Liberty Hills Elementary. You must also have a valid email address in Skyward and have indicated you wish to receive emailed communications from Alpine School District. If you need assistance to ensure your vote can be counted, please speak to one of our school secretaries at 385-579-6376.

Some of the candidates have provided written statements as a means to help you, the voter, better understand why they would like to serve as parent representatives on the School Community Council. To read their voluntary statements, click here.

Four of the candidates will join Amanda Brown, Abby Muth, and Amanda Steele on our School Community Council for the 2026–2027 school year.

To vote in the online election, please click the link below: Opens - Wednesday, August 19th at 10:00 a.m.

School improvement is the responsibility of everyone, from students and parents to professionals and public officials. I’m grateful to see our School Community Council form this year so we can work unitedly to make Silver Lake the best it can be.

Sincerely,

Parents,
Please take time to review the safety information below so that we can have a safe and successful year.

Students should not arrive earlier than 15 minutes before the first bell (9:10 a.m.). We will have supervision coverage of the back playground starting at 8:55 a.m. every morning. If students are eating breakfast, they can arrive at 8:50 a.m. and will enter on the side of the building through the gym doors.

The drop-off and pick-up lanes for all 1st – 6th grade students are at two locations.
1.) On the west side of the school (parallel to Silver Lake Parkway)
2.) On part of the southwest side (adjacent to Golden Eagle Road) Most of this area will be designated for preschool, special class, and school buses.

The southeast pull-through is for Kindergarten only. Do not use or park in this drive-through during the school day.

When dropping off, or picking up your student(s), pull into the drive-through, and continue to move forward as much as possible to alleviate congestion with cars lined up coming in from the street. It is imperative that you follow the directions of all staff members while in the parking lot and drive-throughs.

The two-lane drive-throughs are for parents to pull out and exit once they have dropped off, or picked their students up curbside. Students will not be allowed to load or unload other than from the curb.

After arriving at school, all students will walk to the back playground either on the northwest side of the school or at the gate by the kindergarten playground. ***Parents will not be permitted past the gate in the morning other than the first day of school. At the end of the day, parents will not be permitted to pass the gate entrances until after the 3:30 p.m. bell.

If you park in any of the parking lots DO NOT encourage your child to cross the parking lot alone. Please pick up your student and escort them to your vehicle.

Lastly, please drive slowly and stay off phones. We want all drivers to be alert and aware of students.

Thanks for partnering with us to keep students safe. All staff have been trained on proper protocols, so please be respectful and kind to them as they share any reminders about safety.

To celebrate the first day of school, we will have staff ready at the Northwest gate entrance to welcome students with a “Clap in”. Parents are welcome on this first day to help children find their teacher’s line. It will be marked with a cone and the teacher’s name.

We look forward to a great school year! See you in the morning!

The southeast loop is for kindergarten only. The southwest loop is primarily for special class and preschool. The west pull through is for all drop offs.

Good Morning! Here is the link to sign up for before and after school clubs. Some of the clubs have limited availability, so it is a first come first served. You will be notified by tomorrow through email if your child(ren) made it into the club. Thanks!

Parents,

We will be sending the link to sign up for clubs out at 9 a.m. this morning. Some of the communication said 8 a.m. and some said 9 a.m. I apologize for the confusion. Because of this, I have decided to do the later time of 9 a.m. to make sure all are prepared to sign up.

We needed to change to a Google Form format because with our new fee system, it would have been posted at midnight. That did not seem feasible for some families. So, we pivoted yesterday to this new plan and were deciding on which time would be best. I apologize that it was not a firm time for all of the communication. Please know that we are making all efforts to have a fair sign up for all students.

The Google Form will go out today in an email at 9 a.m. Thank you,
Mrs. Rincon

Don't forget to come for Back to School Night tonight! Visit teachers from 4-5:45 p.m. Check out the tables in the gym to get information about PTA, clubs, lunch accounts, community outreach, and more from 4-6 p.m. Cody the Coyote will also be in the gym throughout the night for photo ops and high fives! Copies of the scavenger hunt will be in the vestibule at the front of the school.

If you are interested in signing up your child(ren) for one of our before or after school clubs, please visit the tables tonight for information. We will send an email out at 8 a.m. tomorrow with a Google Form to sign them up. It will be on a first come first served basis. If they make it into a club, you will have 24 hours to pay the fees. Questions? Ask at the tables or find an administrator to ask questions tonight.

Alpine School District launched Skyward Qmlativ (Q), our new student information system, on Monday, July 27, 2026. This modern platform provides an improved experience for students, parents, and guardians with enhanced functionality, easier access to information, and a more streamlined way to manage student records.

Important Information for Parents and Guardians

Please refer to the Q website for important links, tutorials, and information about the transition. This website has been updated with new helpful information.

As part of the transition to Skyward Qmlativ (Q), there are two important actions that all parents and guardians will need to complete beginning July 27.

Complete the Annual Student Information Update

Beginning July 27, log in to Skyward Q (Qmlativ) and complete the Annual Student Information Update for each of your students. This action will reactivate their accounts. Please also ensure that emergency contact information is up-to-date.

As part of this process, a parent or guardian must review and approve the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) to allow student access to technology resources. Student accounts, including Chromebook access, will remain inactive until the Annual Student Information Update has been completed and the AUP has been approved.

Update the Skyward Mobile App

If you currently use the Skyward mobile app, you will need to uninstall and reinstall the app on or after July 27. Reinstalling the app will connect it to the new Skyward Q system.
