Weekly Memo Jan. 23 – 27

Parents of Silver Lake Elementary Students,

To all those who participated in our first Reunification Drill on Friday thank you so much.  It was so good to see the process we’ve worked hard to put together get applied and it worked.  We did identify a few things that we will want to refine and we did receive great feedback from all stakeholders that will help in the refining process.  Again, thank you so much to all who helped out.

Parent Teacher Conferences (PTC): Our next PTC is coming up next month on Wednesday the 8th and Thursday the 9th.  Conference sign-ups will be sent to you at the end of this week.  We will also have the Book Fair open during the conferences as well. You will be able to schedule your meeting times with your kiddo’s teacher on the 27th.

PTC Teacher Meal Sign Up: The PTA feeds the teachers on the evenings of parent-teacher conferences, and they are looking for volunteers to help prepare a portion of a meal.  Here is a link to sign up to help.  Feed the Teachers

WLHS Community Connection & Support Night:  Westlake High School is having another Community, Connection & Support Night on January 30th.  See this flyer for more information:  Community Flyer 8.5 x11 PNG .png & in Spanish Spanish Community Flyer 18 x24 PNG .png

ALL (Gifted & Talented) Upcoming Test:  The next ALL test will be for 6th graders on Friday the 3rd.  Students will be tested at the school.  Registration for our district’s advanced learning lab (A.L.L. is open).

A.L.L. is an advanced program for students in grades 3-8. There are multiple testing dates available. This is especially important for 6th graders who would like to be in advanced classes in English, history, science, or math at junior high. The 7th-grade math test is now included in this testing which is different from previous years. Here is additional information about the program and testing.  ALL – One Page Information Sheet.pdf

New Student Registration:  New student registration is now open.  See this flyer for more details.  Register NOW for next year.png  Pass this along to any you know who is moving into our school’s boundary for next year.

Kids on the Move Flyer:  Here is a flyer about the Kids on the Move program and the services they provide to help children and families.   Kids on the Move Flyers 9.22 EnglishSpanish.pdf
